This is a very narcissistic Vox Hunt question isn't it? One that leaves you shuffling through the last two years in search of the perfect photo. I couldn't decide between the funny face photos, the food in mouth photos, or the standard peace sign shots. I ended up with this photo from my vacation to Vietnam last year. It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back someday.
This was taken on one of the waterways leading out of the Mekong delta. We left our hotel at 5am to cruise down towards the mouth of the delta where the floating markets take place. Families and merchants in various sized boats sit in the water and sell fruits, vegetables, and sometimes seafood to passing boats. They were even breakfast boats selling porridge and noodles to the buyers.
What was your favorite game to play at recess in grade school?
Submitted by Elisheva Chana.
Dodgeball of course. I was pretty good at avoiding the red ball. Fast, little asian feet. Finally a game where height didn't matter. You should have seen me in tetherball...ugh.
Who was your first celebrity crush?

I was a big fan of Christian Slater growing up. I was obsessed with his 1989 movie, 'Gleamin the Cube', mostly because I was in a skater boy phase. Second to Christian Slater was Kirk Cameron. Oh the horror, I know. I watched 'Growing Pains' religiously and poured over Teen Beat and Tiger Beat magazines, searching for new full length pictures that I could rip out and tape to my wall.
Have you ever started a trend? Followed one?

The entire late eighties was one bad trend. Hyper color t-shirts, matching double socks, plastic jewelry, vests, shoulder pads, leggings under dresses. I swore I'd never dress that badly again. When it's a trend and it's the latest thing, everyone looks ridiculous so it's really doesn't seem that awful. It's takes about ten years before you start smacking yourself on the head.
But be patient, give it another ten years and what do you know, leggings are hot again! I have them in five different colors, and love wearing them under dresses. :)
What's the best thing since sliced bread?
Peanut butter! Or peanut butter and bananas drizzled in honey on sliced bread. Mmm...
